Milan Conference Shapes Euro 5

With the European Commission (EC) tasked with preparing draft Directives for Euro 5 vehicle emissions legislation, the EC’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) took the unprecedented step of organising an international conference, bringing together key stakeholders to review the latest scientific understanding that will underpin this next phase of legislation. Professor John Murlis, of University College London, reviews the conference, entitled,“Future Worldwide Emission Requirements for Passenger Cars and Light Duty Vehicles and Euro V,” identifying key themes, as well as the areas of consensus and dispute.
